A tip to manage self-doubt

A tip to manage self-doubt

Many people tell me that they frequently feel self-doubt, and they are often filled with anxiety and concern that others will see them for the fraud that they think they are.

These same people are talented, smart and achievement-oriented – with no evidence whatsoever that they are underperforming.

So I ask them this question:

▶ ▶ Give me examples of when you have failed.

Of course, not one person has EVER given me any quantifiable evidence.

I then tell them that in the absence of such evidence, there is no basis for their pattern of thinking. I remind them that it’s self-indulgent to wallow in thinking that does not serve them.

So friends, if you have no proof that you are a failure, on what basis would you continue to believe this?
