People leaders – are you across Safework’s Code of Practice for Managing Psychosocial Hazards at Work?

Friends – for the last three years, those of you who talk to me know that I have been talking about uplifting people leadership practices – because we need to be cognisant that mental health in the workplace is (already) a key risk to be managed.

If you are a people leader in NSW, here is something that falls within your duty of care – and is a document that should be on your holiday reading list (if you haven’t looked at this already).

Google Code of Practice for Managing Psychosocial Hazards in the Workplace. And then make this your bible.

The screenshots are nuggets that should capture and hold your attention.

Note: The code of practice on how to manage psychosocial hazards at work is an approved code of practice under section 274 of the New South Wales Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (WHS Act). An approved code of practice provides practical guidance on how to achieve compliance with the work health and safety standards required under the WHS Act and the Work Health and Safety Regulation (WHS Regulation), including effective ways to identify and manage risks. A code of practice applies to anyone who has a duty of care in the circumstances described in the code of practice. In most cases, following an approved code of practice will assist the duty holder in achieving compliance with the health and safety duties in the WHS Act and WHS Regulation concerning the code’s subject matter.
