Don’t talk about the time your manager was not good to you.

I’ve noticed that in nearly all posts where we talk about leadership, we remember those managers:

  • Who have shown poor behaviours
  • Who have done wrong by us
  • Who made our lives difficult

I rarely see comments from managers who claim to be these people – these perpetrators who wreaked havoc in their professional lives of others.

The managers are always “them” – and it’s never about “us”.

So I’m saying this. Let’s stop talking about what managers have done wrong. And instead, can we start talking about what we WILL DO right? We are all leaders.

It’s time we started saying how we are walking the talk.
