People leaders – do you ever say “Don’t bring me problems, bring me solutions”?

If so, you may be depriving you and your team from coming up with creative ideas.

The thing is this. If you always expect your people to come to you with solutions, that’s exactly what they will do.

But here is a thought.

Sometimes, you WANT a diversity of perspectives on a given problem. And one way to get this is to outline the problem and then invite the team for creative ways to solve it.

So, be mindful of the consequences of always expecting people to come to you with solutions.
