Two additional words we should not use in casual speech….

Recently I have learnt that there are two words I should not use casually, (especially as a slur) because it’s:

😈 disrespectful

💀 non-inclusive

☠ trivializes others suffering from these conditions.

👺 it makes a pejorative of an actual condition.

The words are ‘schizophrenic’ and ‘demented’.

I was commenting on a post right here on LinkedIn, and I was about to write:

“Yes, I don’t want to be a schizophrenic project manager.” I realised that this was not respectful for people suffering from the mental condition. I replaced ‘schizophrenic’ with ‘demented’. Again, same issue.

The important lesson here is that many of us already know some of the words we should NOT be tossing around. Add the above two words to your list.
