Do you make this common mistake when presenting to senior leaders?

I watched a recording of a presentation by someone I am coaching. He was trying to explain to his senior leaders why his approach to a problem was the best one.He started giving IRRELEVANT contextual information by over-explaining the problem. As the minutes dragged by while he laid out the scenario, I could see the leaders getting bored.

All the leaders wanted was a quick summary in order to make a decision.
